The Michigan bounce.

When did SNL get so hilarious? The last few weeks have brought us some real gems: Mark Wahlberg talking to the animals, the Palin/Couric interview, the debate parodies, MacGruber… I’ve been loving it. If SNL was this funny ALL the time I may be convinced to stay home on Saturday nights. Or at least go out a little later. Above I posted my favorite clip from last night’s “Weekend Update Thursday” in which Fred Armisen parodies John King from CNN with that goofy election map. It had me cracking up at my desk.

Unfortunately I didn’t get to watch it live on TV, because I had to give a presentation in class. Well, it was more like a debate. The topic was Social Security privatization and I was on the “con” side. Before class I told the professor how nervous I was about getting up in front of the class, and he said I shouldn’t worry because hey look, the stock market’s already made my argument for me.

However, it appears public speaking is not one of those “like riding a bike” kind of skills. Because I sounded like… well, I don’t know what I sounded like, but it was not good. I could hear the shaking in my voice and I didn’t say half of the stuff I wanted to. And when I couldn’t get the projector to work, I almost had a “We’ll do it live“  moment. Last night’s class wasn’t a total wash though, because I found out I got a 98 on my midterm. Guess my groin is safe, for now.
