know of any newsstands in Midtown or Downtown? I don’t plan on going back to East Memphis today so the “News Room” on Mendenhall’s out of the question.
I’m working on a project for my Publication Design class in which I have to critique 30 newspaper pages, due Tuesday. I know everyone else in the class is going to use the same pages from the CA, but I’m an overachiever and want my project to stand out.
I’ve got a Sunday New York Times, but I want a little more variety.
A quick Google on “memphis newsstand” says that the Peabody (Lansky’s Newsstand) and Best Western Benchmark (across the street from the Peabody) have newsstands. It also gives Bookstar on Poplar as being a newsstand, too.
Don’t know if that’s of any help, but there you go.

I tried Bookstar this morning, but their newspaper section was empty. They didn’t even have the Appeal ( ?! ).
If I’m not too late, there’s also a newstand on Union, at the Kimbrough Tower.
Hmmmmm. I’ll have to check the Kimbrough Tower. That information could come in handy in a bizzare set of circumstances. Thanks, Mike….
